THE THERMAL WATERS BICARBONATE
The thermal waters bicarbonate absorb from the soil through which rivers bicarbonates, calcium, sulfates, sodium and magnesium which give them the therapeutic properties. These waters are widespread, as evidenced by the numerous spas spread worldwide.
- Those having the anion bicarbonate together with the sodium cation and sometimes even the potassium, which are said bicarbonate-alkaline waters;
- Those having a greater presence of calcium and magnesium, which are said bicarbonate-alkaline earthy.
The bicarbonate waters often contain chlorine, iron, iodine and bromine that offer therapeutic characteristics wider. Each of these substances in fact adds a particular effectiveness.
These waters give an impulse to the peristalsis (contraction) and therefore gastric emptying and a protective action of the gastric mucosa and are therefore suitable for the treatment for diseases of the stomach.
They help antitoxic to the liver in the case of ingestion of poisons such as carbon tetrachloride
